about
The first single taken from their new album Je Suis la Pomme Rouge was created when lead singer Nischay became fascinated with the history of Richard I, the Troubadour King. One of the few ‘artists’ who held a position of such power. This fascination co-incided with Nischay also trying to learn French on the Duolingo app. The chorus of this song is one of the few sentences he learned to construct.
lyrics
In the streets they ask me how I feel
A crowd that's quick to show me sympathy
One by one they all surround me
Disregarding space and boundaries
But I don't think that I’m gonna let them in
I'll just give them the old smile and wink
When they line up to ask me what I think
I won't hesitate, no, I won't blink
I'll say
Je suis
Je suis la pomme rouge There’s no story in telling the truth
Je suis la pomme rouge
In the morning, the birds, they sing to you
Their song, it travels down the avenue
Up the stairs and right into your room
Turn the corner and gaze at the moon
Through the continent
You'll forge a quest
You may fail, but you will try your best
This enterprise, it may seem ludicrous
Seek adventure, this is what you get
Je suis
Je suis la pomme rouge There’s no story in telling the truth
Je suis la pomme rouge I never knew Where life would go Or who I’d be Minding my mood Buying new clothes And moving cities Sometimes I miss it Making decisions only for me
Je suis
Je suis la pomme rouge There’s no glory in telling the truth
Je suis
Je suis la pomme rouge There’s no story in telling the truth
Je suis la pomme rouge
